Frequently Asked Questions > Concerning Content

Unfortunately, do to persistent legal issues, in most cases, we are only able to allow people to play games that we have here at the vNES headquarters.

For Games Released in America:

If the game is not enabled on the selection menu, we still have yet to acquire this game at vNES HQ. If you have a physical cartridge of this game, you can send it to the vNES team for inclusion on the website (see here). All physical cartridges sent in this manner will become property of the vNES team.

If the game is not listed on the selection menu, we have yet to fully fix the problems in this game. If you have a physical cartridge of this game, you can send it to the vNES team for debugging (see here). All physical cartridges sent in this manner will become property of the vNES team. Games are being added all the time, and having a physical cartridge will push your request to the front of the queue.

If you do not have a copy of the game you want to request, in most cases, sending a donation of $15 will allow us to purchase the game (if there is money left over, this goes towards other games or server costs.) In some cases, certain games are difficult to acquire due to rarity (Snow Bros. for example) and will require more time and/or money to obtain.

For Games Released Exclusively in the United Kingdom or Australia:

Being an America-based organization, it is slightly more difficult for the vNES team to acquire games released in this region. If you have these games and would like to send them to us, see here.

For Games Released in Japan:

Being an America-based organization, it is particularly difficult for the vNES team to acquire games released in this region. If you have these games and would like to send them to us, see here.
